Save the Children Foundation has earmarked $20 million to support the health sector in Katsina State.
Its country director, Mr. Ben Foot revealed this during his one-day visit to the state yesterday.
Mr. Foot explained that about ten thousand children would benefit from the foundation’s nutritional program in the state.
He pledged continued collaboration with the state government in building the capacity of health workers and assist in the nutritional aspect and immunisation of the children.
Mr. Foot, during his visit to the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, commended the state government for giving priority to the health sector.
He said he was in the state to assess the progress of implementation of key support areas of the foundation.
Earlier, the SSG, Mustapha Mohamed Inuwa said government would continue to collaborate with international donor agencies to improve social well being of the people.
Inuwa said he was impressed with the contribution of the foundation in improving maternal and child welfare in the state.
He assured that all request forwarded by the foundation would be looked into for prompt response.
