A GROUP under the aegis of Lafia Posterity and Development Initiative, LAPDI, in Nasarawa state has appealed to members of the State House of Assembly to jettison its resolution for the suspension of Vice Chancellor, VC, of the state University Keffi, Prof. Mohammed Mainoma from office in the interest of the state.
Chairman of the association, Alhaji Musa Dalhatu who made the call yesterday in Lafia at the occasion of official inauguration of the association, pointed out that the lawmakers could better understand and appreciate the sacrifices being made by the Vice Chancellor to accord indigenes of the state their rightful place in the affairs of the institution.
The state lawmakers had passed a resolution calling on the state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to suspend the VC from office to pave way for investigation into allegation of admission racketeering arising from the 2015/2016 admission list leveled against him.
He explained that the association which is a Non-Governmental Organisation was initiated with the aim of fostering unity, harmony and understanding amongst members and the larger society.
Alh. Dalhatu regretted that despite the untiring efforts of the state government, challenges of insecurity, unemployment among other problems have continued to bedevil the state hence, the association’s desire to contribute its quota in addressing the societal ills.
He called on all and sundry to join hands with the association by coming forward for registration to enable them get involved in the provision of community services for the good of the state and country in general.
