Plateau State League of Veteran Journalist has hailed the political wisdom and maturity of Governor Simon Lalong, for extending hands of fellowship to the rival Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, by announcing a state burial for Senator Gyang Pwajok, the governorship candidate of the PDP who died recently at an Indian hospital.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by Gideon Barde, the state chairman of the group, and Mr Tunde Oladapo, the secretary, which was made available to newsmen in Jos yesterday.
“This singular action of the governor is a clear manifestation that the APC government in the state is ready to carry along all the tribes in the state.
“This action has shown that the APC government in the state is ready to share moment of happiness or sorrow with the cross section of the people. In spite of political differences and to stimulate unity towards moving Plateau State to greater heights, the Governor Lalong is continuing with projects initiated by last administration that are beneficial to the generality of the people.”
The group commended the vision and actions of Governor Lalong, and his non-biased principle towards according befitting burial for his political opponent.
It also advised the governor to use his wealth of experience to ensure that his new anticipated cabinet was formed by men and women of good pedigree and credibility, and should cut across all the 17 LGAs without domination from any zone.
