A group under the aegis of Kogi Patriotic Citizens has decried the on-going campaign of calumny against the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Prince Abubakar Audu, fruitless and would not stop his victory in the forthcoming gubernatorial poll in the state.
In a statement by the president of the group, Mallam Ahmad Liman and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Sunday, it noted that the attempt by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to deceive the electorates would be fruitless, saying that the present leadership has nothing to showcase since it came on board almost four years ago.
It added that rather than embarking on issue based campaign, the PDP had resorted to blackmails and media propaganda, describing the forthcoming election as a “Tsunami” that would consume the PDP led government.
It further described Prince Audu as an achiever who made a difference while piloting the affairs of the state, in view of the landmark achievements he recorded in virtually all the sectors of the state economy when he ruled the state.
According to the statement, “the people of the state desire change due to the dismal performance of the Captain Idris Wada led administration. A vote for APC would no doubt take the state to another level of development.
It assured that the welfare of civil servants would be accorded top priority while the condition of local government workers and teachers who have become miserable under the present government would surely change for the better.
It equally described as untrue, the insinuation in certain quarters that Prince Audu was returning on a revenge mission, insisting that the civil servants never offended him in anyway, maintaining that the APC candidate was rather poised to rescue the state from bad governance.
