Socio-political group
known as Plateau Regeneration
Group, PRG, has commended
Governor Simon Lalong, over the
recent 50 percent slash on land
titles in Plateau State.
The group in a statement
jointly signed by Nagelu Garba,
its national president, and Pius
Hoomen, national secretary, and
made available to newsmen in Jos,
the state capital, said that already,
corporate organisations, citizens
and individuals in the state had
started enjoying the benefits of
the reduction on ground rents
and other related charges on land
transactions in the state.
“We commend our governor
for processing over 4,000 land
applications since the formal
commissioning of the Plateau
Land Administration on
Geographic Information System,
PLAGIS, and call on people of
the state to continue to support
him because he has the interest of
plateau people at heart.
“As a group we also commend
the state Commissioner for Lands,
Survey and Town Planning,
Barrister Festus Fuanter, for
instilling sanity in the ministry
and making it a veritable source
of revenue for the state.
“Since he took over office as
commissioner in the ministry,
Fuanter has been looking inward
to help government on how to
boost the Internally Generated
Revenue of the state.
“We commend the commissioner
for sanitising the system and
removing all bottlenecks that
might hinder the transformation
and for introducing transparency.
“As a group we are convinced
that Governor Lalong is determined to better the
lives of citizens of the state
and we appeal to citizens
to cooperate with him.
Lalong is doing his best
to bring good governance
to plateau citizens and we
have observed that his
administration is also doing
its best to harness all the
avenues to boost the IGR of
the state.
“Plateau is strategic to
many Nigerians that is why
people irrespective of their
origin wants to own houses
in Jos,” it said.
