A pressure group known as the PDP Loyal Group has thrown its weight behind Mr Emmanuel Njuwa to lead the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as its national chairman.
The Taraba State coordinator of the group Mr. Dennis Shima who revealed the position of the group to Nigerian Plot yesterday in Jalingo informed that Njuwa had all the qualities and experience needed to lead the PDP to enable it achieve the dreams of its founding fathers for the best of the country.
While describing Njuwa as a bridge builder, whose contributions to the party has helped it to record victories over the years in Taraba and other states of the federation assured that the experience of the former Ambassador could as well bear on the lives of the Nigerians if given the mandate.
The coordinator called on all the PDP youths and other party members in the country to support the aspiration of Njuwa to enable him restore the past glory of the party, which all loyal party members, according to him were yearning for.
He insisted that a lot of Nigerians believe in the vast experience the one time ambassador to the Republic of Cameroon, saying the PDP under him would definitely regain its lost glory and its position in the country.
Already the former board chairman of Industrial Trust Fund and former Secretary to Taraba Government, Ambassador Njuwa has expressed happiness over the support he was enjoying from Nigerians. He assured that if given the opportunity he would turn around the fortunes of the party by connecting with the people at the grassroots.
Njuwa who had reportedly lamented that the party had lost power at the centre and in many states because its leaders lost touch with the grassroots, informed that as a faithful and loyal party man he was touched and would like to again place the party in its rightful place.
The PDP national chairmanship hopeful noted with confidence that, “the PDP lost presidency because its leaders were using a top to bottom approach in handling issues affecting the party. If given the mandate, I will replicate the Taraba PDP approach nationally to enable the party win the 2019 presidency and other elections,” Njuwa stressed.
Njuwa, Nigerian Pilot learnt has the interest to replace Alhaji Adamu Mua’zu who succumbed to pressure from the PDP family and resigned as a result of the party’s poor outing at during the last general elections.
