Abia North PDP backs Ikpeazu

A socio-political group known as Abia Progressives Initiative (API) has appealed to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to as a matter of urgency declare an emergency on the education sector as part of the potent measures to return Abia on the path development and growth.
The group also tipped the Isikwuato-born scholar and former majority leader in Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Osita Igbe, as a disciplined and capable individual with robust academic background to turnaround the dwindling education sector in the state.
The group in a congratulatory message signed by its coordinator Comrade Ugochukwu Sunday to Gov. Ikpeazu on his recent victory at the Abia Election Petition Tribunal, admonished the governor to make indelible marks in the education sector and ultimately secure a brighter future for Abia children by assigning the portfolio to someone that scholarly understands the rudiments of education.
“We wish to congratulate our amiable and dynamic Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu on his much deserved victory at the election petition tribunal. As we celebrate this judicial endorsement of the mandate freely given to you by the good people of Abia state, we also have deemed it necessary to draw your attention to the rot and dwindling fortune in the education sector. There is no gainsaying that a state of emergency needs to be declared in the sector to rescue the system and ultimately secure a brighter future for our children yet unborn.
“To achieve this onerous task, a competent, disciplined and capable person with outstanding training in education who scholarly understands the rudiments of education should be assigned the education ministry. After a cursory and objective study of the background and antecedents of the commissioner nominees, API spotted with delight a young, humble and resourceful scholar and administrator in the person of Hon. Osita Igbe. He has also developed his capacity in research and leadership having attended several local and international trainings and conferences.
“As the Director of Media and Publicity in both Okezuo Abia and PDP 2015 Campaign Organizations, the Isikwuato-born ex-lawmaker proved his capacity in human and material resources management by ensuring effective media coverage and reportage of Dr. Ikpeazu’s campaign events and programmes.” API said.
