A coalition All Progressives Congress, APC, group based in Abuja, has charged the national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and his deputy, Engr Segun Oni to help liberate the people of Bayelsa come December 5, 2015 from bad leadership.
The group were lending their voice by call to the Coordinating Chairperson of Rescue Nigeria Mandate Mission, RENIM, Diaspora chapter, Seiya Dan Someren, who in Yenagoa, said Chief Sylva’s emergence as governor will boost her effort at encouraging Bayelsans in Diasporas to come back home and join efforts to build a better Bayelsa.
They also called on the party hierarchy in the Southern region and other stakeholders to demonstrate true progressives culture to liberate the people of the state from their long suffering, political intimidation and total disservice caused by political imposition and bad leadership.
A statement by the national publicity secretary, Amb Sokari Afiesimama, said the national chairman and every representative of the South at the National Working Committee, NWC, must get on their toes to take responsibility and face the challenges to deliver Bayelsa State to APC.
The statement read, “APC Bayelsa State should count it lucky that the national chairman of APC and his deputy Engr. Oni were one time governors who should understand what it takes to democratically unseat an incumbent government, especially in the South-South region where the people have been much indoctrinated to the unaccepted carry go pattern of the PDP.
“Chief Oyegun must sit up to gain the support of the Southern APC leaders, who must take advantage of the errors, lack of internal democracy and people’s unfriendly leadership style of the PDP to promptly unseat PDP and break the jinx in the South-South.
“APC must for the purpose of Bayelsa State governorship election do the unusual to rescue the people of Bayelsa that have shown massive support and belief in the Muhammadu Buhari’s led APC administration.
“The NWC and Southern governors should not see the forth-coming governorship election as Chief Timipre Sylva’s responsibility but a matter which should concern all in the APC. Chief Sylva has led the front to demonstrate his popularity and total acceptance by the people and their unquenchable taste for him to rescue the state. There shouldn’t be any excuses to why APC in Bayelsa State shouldn’t win the election,” the group added.
