A non-governmental organization, NGO, African Youth for Conflict Resolution /Prevention, AYCRP, has offered to dialogue with the Boko Haram sect to bring about peace in Nigeria, just as it unveils plan to build a 15 meter Muhammed Buhari African Peace Tower and Monument in Abuja.
Director General of AYCRP, Dr. Suleiman Shinkafi who made this know yesterday while briefing the press said the group which has existed for 13years will stock over 200 pigeons in the tower to signify the importance of peace in Africa in general and Nigeria in particular.
According to him, “As a result of our vision prominent among which is to create a peaceful Society free of all forms of violence, discrimination, abuse and vandalization of properties .We seek to Build in Abuja the Muhammed Buhari African Peace Tower and Monument whose model we are unveiling today’’
He said the Tower will be located in the Unity Fountain area of Maitama and will also apart from being a peace monument; serve as a relaxation spot for Nigerians.
“It will host all the Flags of the African countries with past and current leaders of Africa that contributed to peace in Africa.”
The group, he said, decided to vigorously pursue peace in Nigeria because they are “tired of bloodshed currently going on in Nigeria.”
Shinkafi, who spoke alongside other leaders such as the Chairman, Director of Media, Director Marketting, Director of Protocol, Executive Secretary, Country Director and Legal Adviser amongst others, said they are soon embarking on other projects to facilitate peace in Nigeria and Africa.
