Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday said the All Progressives Congress, APC, is jittery over the growing influence of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN, in Lagos.
According to the party, the APC is currently circulating fake news linking TAN national coordinator, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, to the endorsement of its governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode.
It also stated that Ubah led top Igbo leaders to declare support for the APC candidate at the palace of Oba of Lagos.
TAN on its part has refuted this claim as untrue, malicious and wicked, while urging the people to disregard it and vote for Jimi Agbaje.
The PDP won five of the six House of Representatives seats lost by the APC in Lagos while Accord Party, AP, won one.
The APC leadership in the state has, however, fingered TAN as responsible for the defeat due to its grassroots network and growing influence within and outside the state.
This is the first time since 1999 that the PDP will be having an impressive showing in Lagos, winning five federal house seats from the state.
PDP added that the APC is gradually becoming unpopular in the state due to its anti-masses policies.
