Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Wednesday, issued a September 8, 2015 deadline for banks and other financial institutions to furnish it with a list of existing products and services as at March 31, 2013 not adequately covered in the extant guide to bank charges.
The CBN gave this directive in a circular signed by U.A. Obot on behalf of director, financial policy and regulation department with reference number FPR/DIR/GEN/RGBC/01/013 dated August 18, 2015.
Apart from a list of existing products and services, the apex bank also requested the banks and other financial institutions to furnish it with a list of products and services introduced from April 1, 2013 to date, their fees and charges and justification for such fees and charges.
Also, the banks and other financial institutions are to make available to the CBN a list of product and services planned for introduction in the short to medium-term period not exceeding three (3) years their proposed tariffs and justification for such tariffs.
The CBN also released a list of licensed Microfinance Banks (MFBs) in Nigeria as at July 31, 2015, according to its Financial Policy and Regulation Department.
