Unknown gunmen yesterday abducted Mr. Krinpere Douglas, a cousin to the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva.
Douglas was abducted along Ogbia-Brass waterways when boats conveying Sylva’s supporters to a campaign rally were attacked by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
However, the State Police Spokesman, ASP Asinim Autswat, said the command was yet to get a report on the incident.
The rally was billed for Okpoma and Brass communities in Brass Local Government Area, yesterday.
Director, Media and Publicity, Sylva/Igiri Campaign Organisation, Mr. Nathan Egba, who was in one of the boats, confirmed that Douglas was the only one abducted.
“The victim was coming for the campaign but unfortunately, their boat was attacked by gunmen who abducted and took him to an unknown destination. I pray that nothing happens to him.”
