No fewer than 18 cattle were shot dead during a Monday night attack in a Fulani community of Sho village in Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau state , while a three year old girl was abducted by gunmen in a separate incident around Tafawa village in the local government area of Plateau State on Tuesday.
It was however gathered that the three-year-old was later rescued through the efforts of the Special Task Force (STF) and some Berom community leaders around Kasa in Barkin Ladi.
Secretary of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Nigeria, MACBAN in Barkin Ladi, Muhammad Adam Muhammad said the cattle killed belonged to one Madaki Ahmadu Hari, adding that officers of sector 7 had been called upon to look for the cattle and help evacuate them.
Muhammad also confirmed the abduction of his three-year- old niece whom he said was with her mother and a motorcyclist on their way from Tafawa to Barkin Ladi town when two gunmen ambushed them.
He said, “My sister and a motorcyclist called Auwalu Ruwa were on their way to see me in Barkin Ladi when they were attacked by two men who tried to shoot them.
They fell off the motorcycle and she picked her daughter and started to run while one of the gunmen chased after her. He was able to escape with her daughter.”
MACBAN secretary said the matter was reported to the STF and DPO in the area who went in search of the three year old in a nearby bush adding that “some of our Berom friends told us that she had been taken to Kasa area and after consultations they were able to locate her and they brought her back to us.
