Harry Kane has fired a warning to Tottenham’s title rivals after successfully doing the double over Manchester City – ‘we feel we can beat anyone.’
Victory against City at the Etihad means Tottenham are now just two points adrift of Leicester who currently sit top of the Premier League table with Arsenal back in third.
Spurs have now won five successive Premier League games and Kane believes the squad, who celebrated with a spot of dinner, are prepared to face anybody by putting their bodies on the line.
‘It’s the best belief we have had at the club since I came here,’ the England international said.
‘Everyone is just fighting for each other. We’re putting bodies on the line and we’re all working towards the same goal.
‘There’s still a long way to go, but we feel we can beat anyone in the league and we just have to keep putting in performances like that, put teams away and see where we end up.’
Arsenal remain behind Tottenham on goal difference after securing a last-ditch win at home against 10-man Leicester thanks to strikes from Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck.
A draw between both sides at the Emirates would have done Spurs a favour, but Kane insists they are more intent on deciding their own fight by winning games.
‘We were watching it. But we weren’t too fussed about who won or what the situation was. We were focused on our job and we knew we had to get the three points against Man City to keep us up there.’
