Chairman, Councils of Yoruba Traditional Rulers in the 19 northern states and Abuja, Ambassador Mohammed Arigbabuwo has described the former governor of Kogi State and All Progressives Congress, APC candidate in last Saturday’s Kogi gubernatorial election, late Prince Abubakar Audu, as a great nationalist.
Amb. Arigbabuwo in a condolence message issued to newsmen in Kaduna yesterday said it received news of the death of late Audu with shock, describing his demise as a great loss not only to Kogi State but the entire country.
While sympathising with the APC, Arigbabuwo urged the party faithful to come together as a family and produce another candidate who would be widely accepted to people of the state for unity to reign in the state.
“We urge the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to take another look at the election and find a way of how to conduct the remaining elections in the remaining wards where it said election are inconclusive, and also allow a free playing ground for all the political parties in the race.”
