Adamawa High Court presided over by Justice Ambrose Mammadi will today commence accelerated hearing of the suit against Adamawa state House of Assembly Speaker, Alhaji Kabiru Mijinyawa filed by Alhaji Abdulrahman Abubakar member, representing Mubi-South.
Abubakar has dragged the Speaker and the Assembly to court as 1st and 2nd respondents respectively, over his suspension for three months and the dissolution of the House Committee on Finance which he was chairing.
Justice Mamma DI had on November 16, 2015 granted an injunction restraining the speaker and the assembly from suspending the plaintiff and dissolving the committee, pending the determination of the motion on notice.
While fixing date for the hearing, Mammadi tasked counsels to educate their clients on the need to respect court order and appeal against any order or ruling they were not comfortable with instead of going to press to criticize.
Mammadi lamented on how some clients went on media to criticized court orders or ruling they were not satisfied with and even cast aspersions on judges instead of going for appeal.
“ If you are not satisfied with an order or ruling, you go for appeal. That’s why we have court of appeal”, Mammadi said.
Counsel to the plaintiff, Mr. Eva Odo and that of the respondents, Mr. Augustine Sambo, agreed on accelerated hearing of the case by withdrawing their motions on notice.
