Newly sworn in governor of Taraba state, Darius Ishaku has said his election as the governor of Taraba state was for the purpose of rescuing the people of the state from the present situation it has found itself.
Speaking yesterday in Jalingo at his swearing in ceremony, Ishaku informed that the state was becoming backward in various areas insisting that he was going to correct what had gone wrong.
Governor Ishaku explained that the state was already enveloped in crisis which has displaced a lot of the inhabitants of the state, insisting that he would ensure the return of the displaced persons to their various places.
He informed that the state government was heavily indebted, which he attributed to the administration of Garba Umar, former Ag governor of the state.  With the situation, he stressed that payment of salaries was becoming difficult not to even talk of projects.
According to him, the education sub-sector was getting backward in the state but his administration would find a way of normalising it for the benefit of the younger ones as according to him with sacrifice they would overcome the challenge.
The immediate past Ag governor, Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi in his speech sued for forgiveness for one another irrespective of their differences for the progress of the state.
