Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has declared that he needs God’s intervention to achieve his desired goals for the state.
Governor Wike made the declaration yesterday while receiving the General Overseer of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry, Pastor Lazarus Mouka, who paid him a courtesy call at the Government House, Port Harcourt after staging a crusade in the state.
His words: “Frankly speaking, at this point in time, this is what the state requires. Rivers State requires the attention of God and his mercies to reach to the next level. I believe that with the crusade that you have organized and the prayers that have been offered on behalf of this state will make tremendous impact. For us as a government, we are always ready to support and partner with any church that will bring souls to the Almighty God. Winning souls is important. Rivers state is wholly a Christian state, and because of this, we will always partner any church that prays for its unity and progress.”
Pastor Mouka, who came to attend a crusade organized by his Church in the state, thanked Governor Wike for his support and assured that God would answer all the prayers that were made by his church for Rivers State.
also, when the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Dr Samuel Kanu Uche visited him, he said he considered himself as a father of all, irrespective of the different political leaning of the people.
Similarly, the Prelate of Methodist Church of Nigeria, Dr Samuel Kanu Uche, commended Governor Wike for his numerous development projects, stressing that the projects should be sustained for the rapid development of the state.
He urged the governor to replicate the performance he exhibited as Minister of State for Education, noting that Rivers people should experience his commitment to development.
Dr Uche urged Governor Wike to develop alternative sources of wealth for the state by expanding tourism and fishery. He called on the governor to enhance his fight against insecurity and cultism to attract more investors and visitors to the state.
The Prelate later offered special prayers for the governor, his deputy, Dr Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo and the entire state.
