The International Funds for Agricultural Development ,IFAD, Jigawa state support office has distributed inputs to 150 farmers for the 2016 dry season wheat production in the state.
The national coordinator IFAD, Muhammad Ida stated this at official lunching of distribution of input for the 2016 dry season farming to farmers for the cultivation of 150 hectres of farmland.
He explained that items distributed also includes; 150 watering machine, 600 bags of NPK, 300 bags of Urea fertilizer and 150 bags of improved seed.
He said the beneficiaries were selected from seven local government area of the state including; Buji, Dutse, Guri, Auyo, Kaugama, Taura and Gwiwa local government.
While lunching the programme the Deputy governor Jigawa state, Barr. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia urged the beneficiaries to use the opportunités given to them.
He said state government is fully committed towards improving agricultural sector in the state.
The deputy governor said state government has introduced a series of agricultural programmes inorder to change farmers from traditional to modern farming system.
He therefore reassured the state government’s commitment to support farmers in the state.
