Northern Emancipation Network has urged stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to ignore the conditions for settlement offered by the Ali Modu Sheriff faction.
The newly appointed deputy national chairman of the Ali Sheriff faction of the PDP, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, had on Friday said they are ready to end the crisis bedeviling the party.
Ojuogboh said the faction is ready to end the crisis on the condition that Sheriff is allowed to hold a fresh national convention and handover the party’s leadership to a democratically-elected national chairman.
In a swift reaction, NEN’s Coordinator, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman dismissed the condition as the ranting of a dying camp.
Suleiman told journalists in Abuja that it is an afterthought for the rebel faction to move for settlement after having a valid court judgment against it.
