As Kogi State governorship election campaign begins, All Progressives Congress, APC aspirant, Comrade Prince Rotimi Yakubu Obadofin, has promised to liberate the state from the bondage of underdevelopment and poverty.
Obadofin said his administration, if voted into power, would work tirelessly to rescue Kogi from being a failed state, by developing its potentials as well improve on the internally generated revenue, IGR for total development.
The governorship aspirant, who hails from Aiyegunle-Gbede in Ijumu local government area of the state, spoke last weekend when he took his campaign to Mopa-Amuro, Yagba East and Yagba West local government areas respectively.
While lamenting the current state of things in Kogi, he promised to use the opportunity of the state’s proximity to Abuja, the federal capital and attract investments that would boost its socio-economic development, create more jobs and reduce poverty among the people.
The politician expressed displeasure that the incumbent administration in the state could not muster any idea to improve on the IGR, create jobs and make life worthy of living for the populace.
Obadofin, who was a former Senate President, National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, urged the APC stakeholders to support him during the party primary election, promising to make the party proud.
Reacting to the aspirant’s declaration of intention to govern the state, Comrade Amodu Ibikunle Abubakar said: “The time for liberation is now. It’s fundamental and very much essential for the good people of Kogi State to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
“The change has finally come for the masses to have good sense of belonging in governance and they must not miss this opportunity by supporting him (Obadofin).
“There must be a sense of equity, fairness and justice in Kogi State. The progressive people of the state from central, east and west senatorial districts are solidly in support of Prince Rotimi Yakubu Obadofin because of his track records”, he said.
According to him, Obadofin is the most consistent, competent and one who is sound in the theory and practice of good governance.
