Flamingoes Head Coach Bala Nkiyu has described as false insinuations in sections of the media that he rejected Plateau United’s offer to work with newly appointed Technical Adviser Zakare Baraje.
Nkiyu was last month named coach of newly promoted side Plateau United.
The Jos-based side subsequently announced former Enyimba handler to head its coaching staff after he fell apart with 2015 Federation Cup winners Akwa United.
With just days to the kick-off of a new football season, Nkiyu has declared that he never threw the towel as Plateau Coach.
“I don’t know why People like saying what they like just to get attention or fulfil their selfish desire. How will someone wake up and speculate that i don’t want to work with Baraje.
“To start with, Coach Baraje with all due respect is a veteran as long as football coaching is concerned. He started coaching when i was eve in secondary school or so.
“I have no regret when I’m to work with him. All that count is experience. I believe that the management of Plateau United are still working out modalities on how their participation in the premier league will be,” echoed Nkiyu who has coach same team, Niger Tornadoes in the past.
Plateau United are among other new entrants including Tornadoes, Ikorodu United and Mountain of Fire Ministries, MFM FC.
