Imo State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with a foreign company, CCV Hi-Tech Company Ltd for the establishment of a fertilizer producing company in the state.
Secretary to the Government of Imo State, SGI, Sir Jude Ejiogu who represented the state government during the signing of the MoU at the Cabinet Office, Owerri yesterday advised the company not to disappoint people and government of the state.
While urging to ensure they remain good business partners with the state government, Sir Ejiogu who expressed optimism that when the factory commences operation, it would alleviate the sufferings of Imo farmers by providing fertilizer for them at reduced cost as well as creates employment opportunities for the teeming youths in the state.
He maintained that the factory will be sited at Imo Industrial Park in Ohaji/Egbema LGA pointing out that it is expected to produce 500 metric tonnes of fertilizer every year, and appealed to the host community to support the idea.
Earlier , Mr. Nguyem Kim Toaoa, speaking on behalf of the company, expressed delight over the signing of the MoU with the state government, and assured that operation would commence within six(6) months.
He commended Government efforts to industrialize the state, saying that his company would do everything possible to uphold their business image, and called on the people to give them every needed support to perform effectively.
