All Progressives Congress APC, candidates in the Imo state Senatorial and State Constituency rerun elections held on Saturday, 23rd of July, 2016 have been declared winners by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC. The Commission also declared the APC candidate in the Saturday 30th, July 2016 Minjibir, Kano State Constituency winner while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won Kogi East Senatorial District.
In a press release issued by the Commission, in Imo North Senatorial District election, the Commission declared that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP candidate and runner up, Achonu Athanasius Nneji polled 43,815 votes while the APC candidate, Benjamin C. Uwajumogu who was declared winner, polled 56,072 votes.
The Commission also declared that in the Oru-East State Constituency election, Nkenna John Nzeruo of the APC emerged winner with a total of 6,060 votes, while the PDP candidate, Dympna Mbiamnozie, followed closely with 5,444 votes.
In the case of Isiala Mbano State Constituency, the Commission declared Chief Dr Chidi Chumezie Collins of the APC winner with a total of 10,780 votes, while the PDP candidate, Lady Joy Nkechi Mbawike followed with 9,897 votes.
The APC candidate in the Owerri West State Constituency election, Onyewuchi Victor .N, was declared winner with a total of 11,038 votes, while the PDP candidate emerged runner up by polling 7,852 votes.
Similarly, the APC candidate in the Saturday, July 30th 2016, Minjibir State Constituency election, Tasiu Ibrahim, was declared winner, having polled 12,970 votes to defeat his closest opponent Mohammed Auwalu Ubale, of the PDP who polled 1,238 votes.
However, in the Kogi East Senatorial District election held on Saturday, 23rd July 2016, PDP’s Air Marshal Isaac Alfa was declared winner after polling a total of 56,575 votes, defeating his closest opponent, Hon. Ibrahim G. Itodo of Labour Party who polled 11,908.
In Idah State Constituency election, also held on Saturday, 23rd July 2016, the Commission declared Haruna Idoko Musa of the APC winner, having scored 8,346 votes to defeat PDP’s Ukubile Ochijenu Acharu who came close with 8, 274 votes.
