Factional President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Amb. Chris Giwa has explained that the need to avoid possible clash with supporters of Amaju Pinnick-led NFF informed the reason why he decided to stay away when FIFA President, Gianni Infantino visited Nigeria.
Giwa who disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in Abuja maintained that despite reports attributed to Infantino that there are no crises in Nigeria, the number one man-in-charge of the world football was greeted with enormous problem bedeviling the country’s soccer.
Giwa who vowed to fight till justice prevailed announced; “We reiterate and state the fact that peace is not worth the price of justice. We are peace loving that was why we avoided the collision at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in the process to welcome Gianni Infantinno when he came to Nigeria. No blood of any of our follower is worth being spilled for any reason.
Meanwhile, Giwa-led faction of NFF has sworn to reclaim their mandate after the Appeal Court recently relisted their case.
While making this known to Nigerian Pilot Sports, Giwa said; “In view of the foregoing, we have taken patience to pursue the slow but sure processes in our laws. We have secured all legal decisions that guarantee our place in the management of Nigerian football. With the quality of patience we have exhibited, we shall explore all legal means without violence.
Amb Giwa who further explained other plans which the board has to develop Nigeria football revealed that they have equally concluded to immortalize late coaches Stephen Keshi and Shauibu Amodu as well as ex-international Rashidi Yekini and Sam Okwaraji.
