The midfielder is 32 in May but the Italians are ready to table a massive long-term contract as they try to reunite him with his old Blues boss Mancini
Inter Milan are ready to give Yaya Toure a FIVE-YEAR contract worth over £10million a season to try to tempt him away from Manchester City.
The Italian giants have made Toure – who turns 32 next month – their No1 transfer target and are ready to break the bank to get their man.
Toure is on around £210,000-a-week at City and has two years left on his contract – but Inter are prepared to offer him an incredible deal worth a staggering £54million in total.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini has already insisted publicly they want to keep midfield powerhouse Toure, but they have yet to offer the Ivory Coast international an extension.
It could mean Inter’s interest – with City also likely to ask for a big transfer fee – is difficult to resist.
Inter coach Roberto Mancini, who signed Toure for the Blues from Barcelona for £24m in 2010 and made him a key figure in their 2012-13 title-winning side, has made no secret of his desire to reunite with the powerful star.
But it is the mind-boggling figures which prove that Inter mean business, because there had been suspicions over whether they could afford the deal.
Inter are certain to try to test City’s resolve and they hope the lengthy deal will appeal to Toure and tempt him away.
City are likely to rebuild their squad this summer, with Pellegrini’s own future also in doubt if they finish the season empty-handed.
There are certain to be some big-name departures and if Inter get their way, one of them will be Toure.
