IPOB condemns killing of Christians in North, attacks by Fulani herdsmen, amalgamation of 1914

inDiGEnous PEoPlE of Biafra, IPOB, took on President Muhammadu Buhari for his assertion that Nigeria’s unity is not negotiable. In an emotion-laden statement, IPOB image maker, Emma Powerful, lampooned the President for not being thoughtful enough to known that times are changing. The group pointed out that the Amalgamation of Nigeria in 1914 should be revisited rather than regarded as immovable and immutable. The statement averred that rather than lump people with divergent culture together, it is better that they dialogue to decide whether to stay together or part ways so that peace would reign. In the interim, the statement calls for unconditional release of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, as a prelude to peace and unity overture. “The famous worldwide revolutionary movement, the indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu condemned the statement credited to Major Gen. Muhammadu Buhari the President of Nigeria that the unity of Nigeria is non negotiable. This statement shows that the president is not aware of the situation of things within the unity of this contraption called Nigeria. “It is unfortunate that somebody in that cadre cannot ascertain and did not know that the situation in the country now calls for renegotiation for there to be unity. The colonial masters amalgamated the northern and southern protectorates without consultation in 1914 and now no section of the country wants to stay with each other. “It is the duty of the government in power and the new generation to come together and decide whether they will stay or not because forcing people to maintain the citizenship of the country outside their indigenous identities is a fraud and it will not work because the people of 1914 and 2016 are two different and are not the same. “It is degrading and embarrassing that the APC led government don’t have good advisers who have knowledge of the precarious situation the country is heading to. We IPOB have decided not to go back in the quest for the restoration of nation of Biafra and no human being can bring us back because it is the project of (Chukwuokike Abiama) God Almighty, anybody who betrays this noble project will die mysteriously because God is spirit not man,” the statement posits. The statement continues, “we the indigenous people of Biafra want to inform the general public that without the government of Buhari addressing this issue of Biafra and release our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally, the country will not have peace.”
