Jeffrey Dean Morgan who plays the villainous character Negan on “The Walking Dead,” has been promoted to series regular.
His character Negan is a violent leader of a group known as the Saviors, that uses force and intimidation to subjugate other communities, including Alexandria.
The season six finale of “The Walking Dead” which offered viewers their first look at Negan and his infamous Lucille, ended with the character playing a game to decide who would be the first to meet Lucille.
As he made his decision, the camera angle switched to the position of his victim, leaving viewers to wonder who was on the receiving end as the scene faded out.
The season ended without revealing the identity of Negan’s victim, leaving fans angry, shocked and disappointed.
Following the cliffhanger, angry fans started a petition aimed at convincing AMC to reveal which of their favourite cast met his or her end.
For the fourth consecutive year, the AMC’s zombie series has remained the biggest show on TV.
While the show’s ratings are not as high as they used to be, its season six finale was by far the most watched on cable, with 18.4 million viewers and 11.5 million adults 18-49 in Nielsen live+3 ratings.
