The Jigawa Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has warned motorists against overloading in the state.

The FRSC Jigawa state Sector Commander , Mr Angus Ibezim, gave the warning while briefing newsmen in the command headquarters in Dutse.

He said most of the accidents occurring in the most of our roads was as a result of overloading, he therefore warned motorists to desist from overloading to avoid road accident and crashes resulting to loss of lives and properties.

The sector commander explained that the attitudes of some drivers in the state is unacceptable.

“Most of the drivers are not only overloading but carrying passengers in boot and attached them with animals,” he started.

He said the Federal Road Safety Corps will not relent in intensify effort to enforce traffic rules and regulations as well as educate people on the importance of safety.

He explained that the measure was aimed at saving lives and prevent accidents across the state.

However, the sector commander pointed out that this could be achieved only if the operators heed to the warnings.

Ibezim, therefore advised motorists to cooperate with Federal Road Safety in order to achieved the set objectives.
