Jigawa State government has constituted a committee to verify salary payment of health workers in the state.
The committee is headed by the state deputy governor, Barrister Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, with permanent secretary of the state Ministry of Health, Alhaji MagajiUba Jahun, as secretary.
Members of the committee include Commissioners for Health and that of Finance, permanent secretaries of Council Affairs Directorate, Establishment Salary and Pension, Local Government and Civil Service Commission.
Others include chairmen, Medical and Scientists Association, Pharmaceutical Association, Nurses and Midwifery Council, and acting director general, Gunduma Health System.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fenini, said the terms of reference of the committee include auditing all health staff appropriate placement on CONHESS and COMMESS and recommend to the state government the committee’s findings for appropriate action.
The statement added that the committee was to be inaugurated on Tuesday, November 24, by the state deputy governor in his office.
