Members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Kwara State Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, have congratulated the new minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, over his appointment.
In a press statement signed by the chairman and secretary of the chapel, Comrade Layi Olayiwola and Biola Azeez, respectively, the union said that Alhaji Mohammed had the pedigree and competence to improve understanding, peaceful co-existence and development in the country and among its people.
The correspondents also expressed the belief that the emergence of Alhaji Mohammed would further galvanise press freedom and better working environment of the practitioners.
The union called on Nigerians, particularly media practitioners and politicians of different leanings, to support the new minister as he sets to tackle set goals.
The union also prayed God to endow the new minister good health, wisdom and understanding to have a successful tenure.
Similarly, the chapel has congratulated the new Commissioner for Information, Mallam Mahmud Ajeigbe, on his new appointment, praying God to grant him success and achievement.
The union expressed the confidence that Mallam Ajeigbe would bring his wealth of experience in the private sector to bear in his new assignment, particularly as it concerns information management and good rapport with media practitioners in the state.
