A body known as Evans Osi Foundation, EOF, has put in place logistics to empower journalists with digital recording devices, as a
way of boosting their productivity through Information Communication Technology, ICT.
In an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, secretary of the foundation, Mr. Ola Jacobs, disclosed that the foundation was
concerned by the continuous dependence of journalists on manual execution of their jobs in the state.
According to the secretary of the EOF, media practitioners ought to take advantage of the ICT early in the task of information dissemination.
Ola Jacobs hinged the reason why EOF decided to embark on the project on the interest by the foundation to see that news reporters in the state were able to rub shoulders with their colleagues around the world.
Speaking on the modality of the project, Jacobs, who was silent on the specific mode of eligibility for beneficiaries, assured that the programme was organised to accommodate good percentage of reporters in the state.
Speaking on the motivation for the project, chairman of the foundation, Mr. Ifeanyi Evans-Osi, said the initiative was aimed at
keeping the legacies his late father (whom he described as an astute journalist) alive.
He assured that the project which will kick off before end of the month,will give the first batch of beneficiaries opportunity to own
