Kunle Ogunrombi otherwise known as K-Peace has emerged the winner of the fifth edition of the Nigerian Idol. The singer beats another contestant, Dolu into the runner-up position as well as 29 other contestants to the ultimate prize. K-Peace smiled home with a cash prize of N7.5 million, SUV car, and a recording deal with Universal Music Company.
Excited K-Peace after winning the competition, said: “I am overwhelmed getting to this stage today because I faced tougher and amazing talents, especially Dolu. I thank the sponsors of this competition for giving me the opportunity to pursue my dream.” The grand finale which held at Dream Studio, Omole Phase 1, Lagos also had Nigerian-French singer, Asa, who thrilled the audience with songs from her new album, Bed of Stone.
The first runner, Dolu, also won N1.5million, a Galaxy Tab, a phone and an iPod. Past winners of Nigerian Idol include, Yeka Onka, Mercy, Moses and Evelle.
