Kano state Commissioner for health, Dr Abubakar Labaran has said that the state has facilitated the immunization of 3.4 million children against polio in April.
Labaran, who made this known to newsmen at the weekend in Kano, said efforts would be made to sustain the trend and expressed optimism that the state would soon be polio free.
The commissioner, who supervised the exercise in most of the local governments, described the performance as excellent.
He enjoined parents not to relent in ensuring full immunization of their children from birth up to five years to ensurehealthy growth.
Labaran specifically commended the Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area, Alhaji Lawan Unguwar Rimi, for his commitment to ensuring success of the exercise. NAN
