Barely one week to the first 2017AFCON qualifier match between Super Eagles and their Chadian counterparts Head Coach, Stephen Keshi has expressed worry over the non-availability of video clips of his opponent.
Keshi who spoke during the team’s media briefing in Abuja at the weekend said he was still waiting for the clips to know Chad current style of play even as he asked Nigeria Football Federation, NFF to provide it on or before Tuesday ahead of their game coming weekend.
According to Keshi who claimed that he can only remember how they use to play in the past said his team would not have any reason to underrate Chad come Saturday.
“We don’t any reason to underrate Chad. We are preparing very seriously just like we could do if we are to confront Brazil, France or any other country in the world. Football is not what it used to be in the past when some team or country is seen as underdogs.
“I have been hearing the comment some People are making that we can use 3SC, Enyimba to play Chad. That’s not true. I played against Chad when I was with Mali and they are strong. Most of their players are foreign-based.
On how the players are adapting to training, the former Mali and Togo handler added: “The spirit in camp is good and the players are motivated to go all out and confront our opponents and get maximum points. We are not leaving anything to chance. It’s eleven against eleven.
“So far, the competition for a place in the team is stiff among players. I’m not surprised by the quality of the newly invited players. We have been monitoring them for two years now. I just hope they will be more relaxed and have fun playing for their country.
