… Receives N.1m bride price
President Muhammadu Buhari has debunked claims that some cabals have taken over the Presidency saying that there can only be one head of a country, and at the moment, he is the one.
In apparent further response to Mrs Aisha Buhari’s comments that some persons with doubtful integrity were appointed in the key positions, persons little known to them (the husband and herself), Buhari dismissed the notion stating that the alleged overbearing external influence was a figment of the imagination of some persons.
In an interview with The Osasu Show, Buhari described reports of overbearing influence on him by some individuals as mere speculations.
Asked to react to a report that “AlhajiMammanDaura is the true president”, he said: “I don’t know where they get their news from.
“I stood for the election, I visited every local government in Nigeria, I travelled by road, by air, and so on, and we had one of the most credible election. So whoever feels he has lost somehow is his own problem, I have no problem.”
Weeks after the interview was granted, Aisha Buhari made headlines for insinuating that her husband’s government had been hijacked.
Me4anwhile, President Buhari formally married off his daughter, Fatima, to YauGimbaKumo on Friday in Daura, his hometown.
The wedding, which took place at the president’s residence on Mai’adua road, Daura at about 2.40 p.m, was attended by the creame de la creame from the political and economic circles who came to identify with the Buharis.
The groom, who was a former Managing Director of Mortgage Bank, paid N100,000 as the bride price.
The marriage was contracted in accordance with Islamic injunctions and was attended by top federal and state government officials.
