The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kogi State has admonished the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Idris Wada in this weekend’s governorship election to stand on his party’s face-value and that of their members, rather than hiding under the canopy of President Muhammadu Buahri, who has been universally acknowledged as a man of integrity.
In a release made available to journalists in Lokoja, the head of Media and Publicity of Audu/Faleke Campaign Organization, Dr. Tom Ohikere lambasted the PDP and its candidate for adorning all parts of the state capital with posters bearing the image of President Buhari, himself and his deputy, Yomi Awoniyi ahead of the Saturday governorship election.
Dr. Ohikere, who told Governor Wada to face his party, and look for someone else who has the image of Mr President in their party and use as integrity cover stressed that the move of Governor Wada posing with President Buhari in bill boards in some strategic positions in the state capital shows that PDP lacks any capable personality with credibility that they can use as anchor for their campaign.
“It is laughable that Governor Wada cannot find a single person in his party that they can use as an anchor for their campaigns; trying to hide under the credibility of President Buhari, the father of our change message as pillar for his campaign is an insult on his party and embarrassment to the members of the APC, since we did not know him as a card carrying member of our party. Is captain Wada saying he is a member of APC now?”, he questioned.
The APC therefore advised the and his co-travellers to look for the picture of a credible personality in his party and use as the face of Wada campaign, rather than that of “our own President, Muhammadu Buhari”.
