Coordinator, Confluence Women Mandate, CWM, Hajia Asabe Nuhu has condemned a recent call for disqualification of All Progressive Congress, APC, leader in Kogi State and governorship aspirant, Prince Abubakar Audu from the forthcoming November 21, 2015 gubernatorial election in the state.
Hajia Nuhu, who expressed visible anger while addressing newsmen, yesterday in Abuja, wondered why Prince Audu should be at the receiving end of venom pouring by frustrated politicians in the state.
It would be recalled that a group, the Change Agent, claiming to be an interest group within the APC in Kogi State, had last week called for disqualification of Prince Abubakar Audu from contesting the election.
But Hajia Nuhu, who described the call as mischievous, callous, asked rhetorically, “where were these so called change agents when Prince Audu singlehandedly built from the scratch and nurtured the All Progressive Congress, APC, to climb where it is today in the Kogi state?
“To us women in Kogi state, this is myopic, porous, parochial and intellectually stagnant imaginary that only exists in the minds of timid politicians who are afraid of Prince Audu, she said.
The woman leader traced the colossal defeat suffered by the PDP to the political marriage consummated by Prince Audu through a rainbow coalition he initiated between the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, Action Congress, AC and Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy MRDD aimed to root out PDP’s misrule in the State.
She however called on the APC national leaders to ensure that it creates a level playing field for aspirants jostling for the
governorship ticket during the party’s primaries election slated for August 29, 2015.
