KOGI state chapter of People Democratic Party (PDP) has accepted the Supreme Court verdict affirming Governor Yahaya Bello as  the validly elected governor of the state. The Deputy Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Sam  Abenemi disclosed this at the weekend while speaking with journalists in Lokoja , saying that  the party  would abide by the verdict even after release of the details by the Supreme Court. Abenemi  argued that the judgment fell below expectations of the party, adding that the position of the party was not only because of its interest but the overall development of the democratic institution in the country. The former chairman of Lokoja Local Government and one time Commissioner for Water Resources in the state appealed to  Governor Bello to go back to his desk and re-appraise all necessary variables and exploit them for the development of the state. The PDP stalwart urged governor Bello to run an all- inclusive government ,saying that his spectrum should not be limited to the resources within his party  but should be broad- based to cover the entire state irrespective of religious beliefs, ethnic nationality and political affiliations. He noted that the PDP was poised to offer a robust opposition and engage in issues that would offer best options for the state to move to its next level. In the same vein, the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Bode Ogunmola, hinted that the PDP was already chatting the way forward before the verdict came by enjoining Governor Bello to address the plight of state workers by paying their salaries He stressed that over N40 billion had so far accrued to the state since the inception of the present administration, assuring that all hope is not lost yet. The state Secretary of PDP appealed to Kogi people to join hands with the present administration for  it to  succeed in in its policies and programmes.
