Kogi repatriates 28 displaced persons back to Kwara

OVER 28 internally displaced persons, IDPs, brought from Kwara State to Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State have been repatriated back to Kwara for their inability to convince the state government of being its citizen.
The Yagba West Senior Special Assistance, SSA, on security, Mr. Pious Kolawole, disclosed this to journalists in Lokoja on Tuesday via a statement through his media assistance.
He said the repatriated IDPs brought from Kwara State to Yagba West Local Government, who claimed to come from Yagba West, could not be identified with any family or individual in the Local Government Area.
Kolawole said that before their arrival, the state government had alerted him that the Kwara State government would be sending some IDPs that claimed to be citizens of Yagba West Local Government.
He said the statement from Kwara State hinted further that the displaced persons being repatriated from the state to Kogi are mainly Fulani by the tribe
Shedding more light, he said, ahead of their arrival the chairman of Yagba West Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, the Ardo Ardondi Fulani of Yagba West LGA was invited to be on ground to identify their kinsmen for a possible reunion.
