and Agriculture, KWACCIMA,
Dr. Ahmed Adeoye Raji
yesterday expressed support
for the initiative of the state
government to collaborate
with the African Nations
Development Programme,
ANDP, to provide 5000 mass
housing units for the less
privileged in the state.
The state governor, Alhaji
Abdulfattah Ahmed had over
the weekend flagged off the
New Cities in Remote places for
the less privileged at Ajase-Ipo
in Irepodun Local Government
Area of the state.
The KWACCIMA president in
a statement issued in Ilorin said
the gesture would go a long way
to bring succour to the housing
needs of the downtrodden
people of the state.
He, however, urged the
government to allow and ensure
that the needy or poor are the
receiving end of the project
and lauded its determination
towards ensuring that the
project is directed to the poor.
Raji also asked the government
to ensure that fairness was
maintained in the allocation and
distribution of the mass housing
He therefore commended
the partnership between the
state government and the
African Nations Development
programme, pointing out that it
would further ensure that evendevelopment
spread across the
three senatorial districts of the
Raji, who sought more of
such projects in other senatorial
districts of the state, said it
would alleviate the suffering
of the poor in the society and
address their housing needs
