Rector of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Alhaji Mas’ud Elelu, said arrangements have been concluded to organise a one-day programme that would showcase products manufactured in the school.
Elelu added that the occasion will attract more customers, especially organisations and corporate bodies.
He disclosed this while speaking to journalists in Ilorin during a
facility tour of the institution.
‎According to him, “we would exhibit our products at the national conference in order to attract customers because we cannot display them in the open market as a result of lack of funds to secure the necessary accreditation from the Standard Organisation of Nigeria, SON, NAFDAC and other regulatory agencies.
“An open day programme is in the pipeline. We would invite big factories within and outside Kwara State to come and see our products and choose any of them that they would want the institution to produce for them at a price cheaper than what they can get elsewhere.”
Elelu further said that some of the projects were funded by the Tertiary‎ Education Trust Fund, TETFUND, internally generated revenue ‎ and other windows of opportunity.
“We will soon finalise arrangements with the Africa Development Bank, AFDB, ‎so as to be able to assess fund for other projects apart from the ones we are enjoying presently,” he added.
