Authority of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin yesterday approved the immediate suspension of three of its students for their alleged involvement in secret cult activities.
They are; Adeyemi Iretiola (ND/13/PA/FT/1545), Alimi Sikiru (ND/13/PA/FT/1640) and Abu Abdulrahman (ND/13/PA/FT/1752), all of Public Administration Department.
A statement signed by the Principal Assistant Registrar, (Academics) of the Polytechnic, Alhaji Yahya Ahmed, disclosed that the Polytechnic’s tradition is to place any student under investigation on suspension pending the outcome of the investigation of the alleged cases.
According to the statement, “A report from Oke-Oyi Divisional Headquarters of the Nigeria Police had been received by the Polytechnic authority in respect of your alleged involvement in secret cult.
“Consequently, I am directed to inform you that the management has approved your immediate suspension from the Polytechnic pending the outcome of the investigation by the police.”
It added that the Polytechnic authority had directed the affected students to stay away from its campuses pending the time their case will be determined.
