Kwara State House of Assembly has approved the request of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to appoint 10 special advisers into his cabinet. The approval was in response to the request of the governor in his message read on the floor of the House during Tuesday’s plenary.
Ahmed, in his letter read by the Deputy Speaker, Mr Mathew Okedare who presided over Tuesday’s plenary urged the House to give him the approval of appointment of 10 Special Advisers.
The governor noted that the appointment has become imperative in order to allow government activities move at faster rate. The governor’s request was granted immediately the Deputy Speaker put a question to that effect.
The Deputy Speaker directed the Clerk of the House, Mr Oyetunde Oyeniyi to communicate the approval of the appointment of 10 Special Advisers to the governor.
Our correspondent reports that this would be the second appointment by Governor Ahmed since the commencement of his second term tenure in office in May.
