Cameroon goalkeeper Carlos Kameni emerged as the star of the show as Malaga held free-scoring Real Madrid to a goalless draw at the Santiago Bernabeu at the weekend.
Malaga were always going to be under the pump in the capital having failed to score a single goal this season and with Moroccan Nordin Amrabat sent for an early shower their task was made even more difficult.
With Javi Gracia’s men firing blanks, play would be focused at the other end and so it proved with the hosts registering a total of 31 shots at goal, nine of those on target.
Real ace Cristiano Ronaldo had 14 of those shots, but try as he might the Portugal skipper couldn’t find a way past an inspired Malaga stopper.
The clean sheet for Kameni is his third in six matches this season with the 31-year-old Cameroon gloveman having only conceded on three occasions.
Kameni’s heroics is keeping 2014 World Cup star Guillermo Ochoa firmly on the bench.
