Lagos State Police Command has paraded four suspects as members of the gang which carried out the recent banks robbery in the state, including the one in Ikorodu area of the state.
The suspects, all males included one Monday Omoboye, 39, a.k.a Alarm Blow, who was arrested in his hideout at Ikorodu on June 28, 2015 while Promise Abiwa, 20, was traced to Igbokoda in Ondo State where he was arrested.
The others are Monday Omoboye, the boat operator who drove the speedboat in both the Lekki FCMB robbery and Wema Bank robberies on June 1. He also allegedly participated in the Zenith and First Banks’ robberies in Ikorodu on June 24, 2015 and Agbojule Bright, 25.
Bright was arrested with the Lexus Jeep which he bought from his share of the robbery operation. Both Bright and Monday were arrested on the same day, while Omoboye was arrested the second day.
Speaking with journalists at the parade ground, the suspects confessed to various armed robbery attacks both on water and highways across the country. They disclosed that they executed the FCMB Lekki operation where three policemen and two civilians were killed.
Also, the police recovered three Jeeps the suspects bought from their share of the loot, including Infinity FX 35 with registration EKY 641 DB, Lexus RX 300 with registration KRD 29 DA and LSD 642 DQ, respectively.
The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, said further investigations were geared towards arresting the remnants of the gang.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Commissioner of Police in Lagos, CP Kayode Aderanti, in his valedictory session with journalists, stated that his stay in the state reshaped the operation of the police force in Lagos.
