A 24-year-old laundryman, Nathaniel Irubibi, who allegedly stole his employer’s 4,600 dollars, was on Thursday in Lagos granted a N1 million bail.
A Tinubu Magistrates’ Court which gave the ruling, also granted Irubibi two responsible sureties as part of the bail condition.
The Magistrate, Mrs Memunat Folami, said the sureties must be blood relations of the accused and should not be below 40 years.
“The sureties must work in a government parastatal, with a grade level not less than 13,’’ she said.
The accused is facing a two-count charge of unlawful entry and stealing.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Philip Osijiale, told the court that the accused committed the offences on June 23 at Ikate Estate, Lekki, Lagos.
He said the accused, who did his job once a week, broke into the complainant’s bedroom and stole the money.
The offences contravened sections 285 and 306 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The magistrate adjourned the case to July 28 for mention. (NAN)
