Mr Emeka Idimogu, member, Lagos State House of Assembly (PDP- Oshodi-Isolo 2, commended Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for his resolve to repair Ikotun-Ejigbo-Isolo Road.
Ambode had promised during his visit to the area that the state would commence repair work on the road after Ramadan.
Idimogu, who represents the area at the state Assembly, said that the planned repair was long overdue, considering the harrowing experience motorists faced in the area.
He told NAN: “Government should have provided palliative measures to bad portions of this road long ago.
“The road is in pitiable condition and motorists are passing through harrowing experience every day.
“Most sections of the road are failing, thereby creating hurdles at various sections of the road.
“This terrible situation has resulted into daily vehicular breakdowns, traffic gridlock and encourages driving against traffic, which has brought untold hardship to car owners and commuters.’’
According to him, there is the need for urgent palliative measures by the State Government to reduce the hardship of the people, especially with the rainy season.
He said that the situation had its attendant socio-economic implications in the state.
Idimogu said that most roads in the constituency were bad; promising that he would make effort to attract dividends of democracy to the area. NAN
