As the leadership crisis in the House of Representatives continues, the Lawmaker representing Ojo Federal Constituency, Mr. Tajudeen Obasa has urged all members of the lower chamber to play politics that will ensure the interest of the masses yearning for dividends of democracy are well protected and never compromised.
In a statement issued to journalists, Obasa emphasized on the role of peace in ensuring stability in the house, stating that Nigerians deserved more than what they are now experiencing from the eight Assembly that promise positive change.
“I’m not against party supremacy in decision making on the polity but all of us in this hallowed chambers should remember we are representing the interest of our constituents irrespective of political affiliations, tribe and religion.
“Our emergence simply means we won by majority of votes casted for the party and this doesn’t mean the minorities who voted against are not supreme, in as much we are laying emphasis to party supremacy we should take cognisance of the ‘people supremacy’ that is the surest way to unite all members of our constituent.”
He pleaded with the President to intervene in the lingering crisis since he is the father of the nation and he had said repeatedly that he is ready to work with anyone.
Hon Obasa pledged his absolute loyalty to the Speaker, Mr. Yakubu Dogara and assured Nigerians that his era will surely be beneficial to all because the eighth assembly is the people’s assembly.
