Liverpool have denied making an approach for former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.

It has been reported this morning that the club have made contact with Ancelotti following a below-par start to the season under Brendan Rodgers.

However, the Indy are saying Liverpool have denied that, although the paper states ‘the next couple of weeks are seen as make-or-break for Rodgers’.

Press Association report the club have ‘vehemently dismissed the claims’, saying they were immediately rubbished and sources suggested such a move would be completely out of character with the way the American owners have run things to date.
